Zeta Chi initiated 13 oustanding people into the Brotherhood on March 27, 2009. ZX was joined by brothers from Kappa Sigma (ECU) and Mu Eta (UNC-Chapel Hill) as well as numerous alumni. Congratulations to our new brothers!

Chapter Leadership Award





Zeta Chi has been selected as a Chapter Leadership Award Recipient for the 2007 - 2009 Biennium. This marks the tenth time ZX has received this honor.

Zeta Chi congratulates the following chapters for also receiving the Chapter Leadership Award:

Alpha - Oklahoma State University
Eta - The Ohio State University
Nu - The University of Michigan
Omicron - West Virginia University
Psi - The University of California, Los Angeles
Alpha Beta - Butler University
Alpha Eta - The University of Florida
Beta Kappa - Bowling Green State University
Gamma Nu - Florida State University
Zeta Epsilon - Michigan State University
Eta Pi - The University of Northern Iowa
Iota Pi - California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo

In order to be eligible for this award, Chapters must meet all report and fee deadlines as well as demonstrate excellence within the ideals of the Fraternity.

The chapters selected for this honor will be interviewed by a committee at the 2009 National Convention in Phoenix, AZ for the opportunity to be awarded the William A. Scroggs Founders Trophy; given to the most outstanding chapter in the nation. Zeta Chi won this award at the 2007 National Convention.

James K. Copenhaver awarded the Bohumil Makovsky Memorial Award





On February 21, 2009, USC Director of Bands, James K. Copenhaver was honored with the Bohumil Makovsky Memorial Award. Presenting the award were Dr. Kirk Randazzo, Past National President and Chair of the Board of Trustees, and Mr. Kenneth M. Corbett, Past National President, Trustee and Zeta Chi Co-Sponsor.

The Bohumil Makovsky Memorial Award was first presented in 1979 to honor outstanding conductors in the college bands. "Boh" was the Director of Bands and Head of the Music Department at Oklahoma State University from 1915 until 1945 and is considered to be "The Guiding Spirit of Kappa Kappa Psi."

Mr. Copenhaver is also a recipient of the Kappa Kappa Psi Distinguished Service to Music Medal.

Congratulations MH!




On September 6, 2009, Kappa Kappa Psi welcomed the Mu Eta Chapter at UNC - CH. Jason Morris, National Vice-President for Student Affairs served as the installation officer, Zeta Chi served as the big brother chapter, and Co-District Governor and former USC Associate Director/ZX Chapter Sponsor Dr. David O' Shields served as the Colony Advisor.

Zeta Chi congratulations to the Brothers of Mu Eta and thanks all chapters and persons who offered help and support through the colonization process.
