		272 Reads Director of Bands Annouces Retirement USC Director of Bands, James K. Copenhaver has annouced his retirement from the University of South Carolina in Spring 2010. Mr. Copenhaver has been on the faculty of the School of Music since 1976. Mr. Copenhaver is a recipient of the Kappa Kappa Psi Distinguished Service to Music Medal in Instrumental Music Education and the Bohumil Makovsky Memorial Award for outstanding college band conductors. He is also an elected member of the American Bandmasters Association and a member of the South Carolina Band Directors Association Hall of Fame and the Phi Beta Mu - Theta Chapter Hall of Fame. 115 More words
