At the conclusion of the USC Band Clinic Events, the brothers of Zeta Chi presented sponsor Dr. David O’Shields with a plaque and a crown pearl badge to congratulate him on becoming SED District governer, and to show our appreciation for his involvement with ZX as our chapter sponsor. The plaque and badge were presented by brother Danielle Castillo after the final concert.
Each year, USC hosts a band clinic inviting high schoolers from all over the state to audition for bands and work with guest clinicians. Brothers of Zeta Chi participated in this year’s clinic events by setting up and breaking down rehearsal rooms, being aids for clinicians, being student housing assistants, putting on a dance for the clinic partcipants, performing in university ensembles, and running errands for the directors and graduate assistants. Additionally, our prospective class provided refreshments for clinic participants.
On January 23, Zeta Chi gained 10 prospective members; Jeff Barnhill, David Carter, Ben Fine, Andrew Glazier, Jamie Kirby, Chris Martinez, Stuart Ray, Tyler Spence, Evan Thompson, and Thomas Womack. So far the class is off to a strong start having done well on their first test and planning their fundraiser. Good Luck, AEA.
